Birthday Wishes

What a wonderful birthday I had! It all started about a week ago. My husband, Mike, had several unusual "errands" to make. He was very vague as to where he was going or what he "had" to get done. I knew he was acting suspicious and was up to something, but I really didn't want to know....I do love secrets around my birthday. All he would tell me was, I need be "dressed like a girl" (my clothes usually have paint on them) and be ready at 7pm on Saturday. I hadn't a clue as to what we were going to do. I assumed we were going to just go eat out at one of our regular "birthday" establishment. So, I got dressed and was ready to go. As I was digging through my jewelry box, he brought me a small bag from.....Gordons!!
You have to know at this point it is unusual for me to receive jewelry for gifts. It didn't take me two seconds to reach in that bag an pull out the small box inside. A bunch of ,oh my goodness's and you shouldn't haves, were said as I opened it. Inside, there was a beautiful necklace with a lady bug in the color of my birthstone ,the garnet. I just so happen to love ladybugs. What a wonderful start to our evening out. So, off we go, not having a clue as to where we would end up...I was a little nervous but full of excitement! We didn't drive very far when he turned into the Kemah Boardwalk. We arrived at the Amadeus Italian Restaurant & Piano Bar. We had never been there before, this wasn't one of our usual places. Mike had already made reservations near the piano bar. The food was fabulous and I even had a glass of wine. The music really set the mood and we danced! Romance filled the air. After dinner, I suspected we were headed back home when we turned the other way...where were we going now? It was a little late to be going somewhere else. When all of a sudden we turned into a hotel not to too far from the restaurant. Mike had the biggest smile when he handed me the key and explained we were staying here for the night. I wasn't really prepared to stay anywhere over night....no night cloths, toothbrush, I didn't have any of my things that I would need for the morning....As soon as we walked in the room I thought we were in someones else room because there were cloths hanging on the rack that I didn't recognize...music was playing and the lights were dim. Mike had already checked us in and brought all the things I would need for an overnight stay. He had bought me new cloths for the next day too!! There was a hot tub in the room! We had the most romantic evening. I really love my husband .....After all these years...he still sweeps me off my feet!
